|Thomas M. Deacy joined Deacy & Deacy, LLP in 1982 and has been a partner in the firm since the late 80s. Tom received his BA degree in political studies from Pitzer College in Claremont, California and his JD from the University of Kansas.
In his 32 years of practice Tom has defended business owners, builders, lawyers, equipment manufacturers, veterinarians, homeowners, apartment owners, apartment managers, homes associations and automobile and truck operators in business tort, breach of contract, construction defect, MMPA violation, malpractice, fraud, malfeasance, and personal injury actions.
Tom is a member of the Missouri Bar and is licensed to practice in Missouri, and in the U.S. District Courts for District of Kansas and the Western District of Missouri. Tom has been active in the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, having served as Chair of the Circuit Court and Civil Practice Committee and is a member of the Lawyers Association of Kansas City, the Missouri Organization of Defense Lawyers and the American Bar Association. Tom holds an “AV” preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell.
Tom has been active in promoting education and public transportation in the Kansas City community. In education, he has served on the board of directors of Education Inc. and the DeLaSalle Education Center, having served a two year term as president of the board and on many committees including the Long Range Planning Committee. In transportation, Tom served on the Surface Transportation Committee of the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce from 1998-2003 and currently serves on the board of the Kansas City Regional Transit Authority.
