Tanya, a partner at Deacy & Deacy LLP, focuses her practice on defending clients in personal injury, business dispute, and legal malpractice cases. She also represents insurance companies in first party litigation and excess/bad faith claims. She has experience conducting depositions, negotiating in mediations, and trying both jury and bench trials. She has also assisted with writing several appellate briefs. Tanya is licensed to practice in the state and federal courts in Missouri and Kansas.
Tanya graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, with distinction, with a B.A. in Psychology in 2002. She graduated from the University of Kansas School of Law in 2005, where she participated in the Legal Aid Clinic during her third year.
Tanya is a member of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association (KCMBA), the Kansas City Association of Women Lawyers (AWL), the Missouri Organization of Defense Lawyers (MODL), and the Missouri and Kansas Bar Associations.
Outside of her practice, Tanya enjoys giving back to her community by serving as librarian of her Little Free Library, and serving on the board of the Greater Kansas City Pi Beta Phi Alumnae Club, which supports Kansas City Reach Out and Read, First Book, and other local literacy philanthropies.
