Spencer is a partner at Deacy & Deacy, LLP. He has been with the firm since 1965. He has tried over 120 jury cases to verdict in different counties in Western Missouri and in the Federal District Courts for the Western District of Missouri and The District of Kansas. Mr. Brown’s practice includes all types of complex litigation. He has had extensive involvement in the trial of toxic tort, mass tort, product liability and professional liability cases. Spencer regularly addresses trial practice seminars and workshops.

Spencer graduated from Rockhurst College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He graduated from St. Louis University Law School in 1964.

Mr. Brown is licensed to practice in the State and Federal Courts in Missouri and the Federal Court in Kansas as well as the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Brown holds an “AV” Preeminent rating with Martindale-Hubbell and has been listed every year since 1999 in the Best Lawyers in America.

Mr. Brown is a member of the Kansas City Metropolitan Law Association; the Missouri Bar (Chairman Civil Practice and Procedure Committee 1976, 1977); Member: Advisory Committee on Administration, 1997-1984; Supreme Court Civil Rules Committee 1997-2003: Lawyers Association of Kansas City; American Bar Foundation; Fellow, American College of Trial Lawyers (Regent 1995-1998).

Mr. Brown received the Lon O. Hocker Memorial Trial Lawyer Award from the Missouri Bar Foundation in 1975. He received the Outstanding Defense Lawyer Award given by the Missouri Organization of Defense Lawyers in 1997 and was named Dean of the Trial Bar by The Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association in 2000.
