Kansas City Civil Litigation and Appeals Lawyers
A detail-oriented approach and custom defense strategies are the keys to Deacy & Deacy, LLP's success in handling litigation and appeals. When the outcome of a trial is unfavorable, we represent clients in the appeals process even if we did not handle the original suit.
Proactive Approach
Our focus is on business claim and insurance defense litigation. To resolve the case effectively, being proactive and timely is vital whether in negotiations, at trial, or during an appeal. We work quickly to meet with you, assess the case, and get the facts. Some of the cases we have handled at trial and on appeal include:
- Personal Injury
- Product Liability
- Professional Liability
- Employment Issues
- Commercial Disputes
- Insurance Coverage/Bad Faith Disputes
Stages of Litigation
There are various stages involved in litigating a case based on the issues and their complexity. While some cases settle quickly and for minimal amounts, we also know that sometimes a long phase of discovery is needed to gather all the information necessary to determine whether settlement is appropriate or trial is necessary.
If a case does not have the desired outcome at trial, we seek to identify issues or errors in the original trial so that we may make a comprehensive argument on appeal. Alternatively, when our clients win their suit at trial and the plaintiff appeals, we vigorously defend the original outcome in the appellate court.
